🙏🏽 PREYING

RAYMOND DANSEREAU: Christian morality provides the duty to care for the sick and dying.

Virginia Millano Evangelista Fabro~Rivera: There's not that much Pain. The Arm is better. [Shingles are only in the Fingertips.]
Clifford Fabro Rivera: Yay! Now, you can cook for me.
😂

"So the Palestinians were subdued and they stopped invading Israel's territory. Throughout the Prophet's timeline, the hand of the LORD was against the Palestinians" (1 Samuel 7:13). "He went on a circuit from The Jerusalem Post / JPost.com to The Times of Israel to The Jewish Press, judging Israel in all those places" (1 Samuel 7:16).

I resolved to know
Nothing except Jesus Christ
And Him crucified.
JOSHUA TRACHTENBERG: The dead are quite aware of everything that is said here on earth; laudatory or derogatory remarks concerning them are promptly rewarded or punished. Because of the alertness of the spirits to human actions, pious deeds performed on their behalf, such as prayer, charity, ascetic practices, lighting candles, have a double utility besides their purely ritual significance—they serve to improve the lot of the soul in the realm to which it has been transported, and they give "pleasure" to the spirit. Nor do they go unrewarded. The spirit, in its turn, "prays for the well-being of the living."

ROBERT BEATTY: First, prayer had become nothing more than a ritual. The Jew prayed but his prayers were scripted and the form was set. He either quoted them from memory or read them. Thus, a Jew could "pray" and not even think about what he was saying. Every morning and evening, faithful Jews would repeat the Shema. This prayer was formed from selected phrases from the Scriptures. Then, prayer was limited to preset times and occasions. Instead of praying when they felt led to, or when a need arose, they prayed at set times. Some religious groups do this today, and there is nothing wrong with praying at predetermined times, but we are called upon to be in an attitude of prayer at all times. The Jews also believed, in Jesus' day, that the longer and more elaborate the prayer, the more likely it was to be heard by God. Jesus warned against that practice.

Candi: Many people receive healing through soaking prayer.

Joe St. George: It's possible the Supreme Court could make prayer a lot more prevalent in public schools by the next school year.

Bobby Mathews: One common failure in our prayer life is bringing requests to God and promptly forgetting them. This might indicate how little importance we attach to them. For this reason many Christians have found a prayer list helpful. It reminds us to pray daily for our needs and the needs of others, and also increases our faith when we see how God has responded to our requests.

Lori Stanley Roeleveld: We make prayer a priority and pray, not only for our own needs but also for the needs of others. Now, every one of us represents God before humanity and can intercede for humanity before God. This is the ministry of the church. We are part of something greater – a royal priesthood.

JEWISHENCYCLOPEDIA: The word "paradise" is probably of Persian origin.

PATTI WIGINGTON: Coffee: neutralizes harmful magic
Naftali Silberberg: The very body that died will be resurrected.
